Even if we are out-of-network with your insurance, we will work with your insurance to reduce care costs. A few things to know up front:
- You can normally use your plan at an out-of-network dentist’s office as long as you pay the difference between the coverage and the treatment fee.
- Every patient receives an itemized treatment plan that lists all fees and procedures, along with your estimated insurance benefits and patient portion.
- You can always choose to finance all or a portion of your procedure when necessary.
Flexible Financing
Payment plans through our office and third-party lenders such as CareCredit break treatment into manageable monthly payments, and many plans are available at 0% or very low interest.
In-House Membership Plan
Our in-house Membership Plan is a great option if you have no insurance, with 25% off dental services and no waiting periods.
Our Partners
Our Financing Partners
We offer financing for manageable monthly payments, plus an in-house membership plan for patients without dental insurance.
CareCredit
CareCredit provides a variety of payment options that can be used to manage the cost of numerous procedures, including healthcare costs that aren’t related to dental services. Most of our patients use CareCredit to finance cosmetic care that is not covered by insurance or the portion of their restorative care that isn’t included in their benefits (such as deductibles and the patient portion after insurance is filed.) These plans vary from 6-24 months or longer with both low and 0% interest options as long as you pay back the balance within a specific timeframe.

Common Questions
Insurance & Financing FAQs
If you have questions about paying for your care, we’ve got answers.
What is dental insurance?
Dental insurance typically covers the cost or a portion of the cost for a dental procedure such as preventive care (cleaning), exams, X-rays, fillings, and more. Dental insurance is purchased separately from medical insurance, and depending on your oral health history, your treatment needs, and which dentist you want to see, it may not be worth the value you are paying for the plan.
Which treatments are covered by dental insurance?
Dental insurance assists with coverage for a wide range of treatments, from cleanings and exams to fillings, root canals, and dentures. In most cases, preventive care is covered at or close to 100%, with major and basic services covered somewhere between 50-80%. Every policy has an annual maximum and specific criteria that treatments must meet, so if you have concerns about your coverage, it’s best to talk to your employer’s HR department about the specifics of your policy.
How does dental insurance work?
Your plan places an emphasis on preventive care, so cleanings and exams are usually covered at or close to 100%. When you need treatment, coverage drops: fillings may be covered at around 75-80%, and major services like crowns or root canals may drop to 50% in some cases. You’ll also want to plan for your deductible and your yearly maximum. You can use FSA or HSA funds on anything that isn’t covered by dental insurance, or finance those amounts instead.
How much will my dental insurance cover?
Every patient at Canyon Country Dental Care receives a detailed treatment plan with an itemized insurance estimate, so you can see what your insurance is expected to cover compared to the total treatment price. When possible, our Canyon Country dentist will also offer alternative treatments worth considering so that you can compare them and budget accordingly.
What if I don’t have dental insurance?
No problem. Many of our patients do not have dental insurance and choose to finance their dental treatment, making affordable low monthly payments instead of enrolling in a separate insurance plan. Our in-house Membership Plan is another option. Talk with one of our team members to find out which option fits you best.
What is dental financing, and when should I use it?
If you need flexible payment options, financing through our Canyon Country dental office or CareCredit is usually more affordable than a separate credit card or private loan, and many plans are available at low or 0% interest. It is a great option for medically necessary treatment, major dental work, or an elective service you don’t want to save up months or years to pay for. Using financing makes care available now, which matters for conditions such as active tooth decay, gum disease, or missing teeth.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. If you have a Health Savings Account or Flex Spending Account, you can use those funds to pay for your dental treatments, including elective cosmetic procedures. HSA and FSA funds can be used alongside your dental insurance or to reduce how much you finance on a payment plan.
How will I know what my treatment will cost?
Whenever we create your treatment plan, we give you a detailed breakdown of services, the fee for each service, and what your insurance benefits cover. The breakdown also includes any remaining balance, which is your out-of-pocket amount. You can then choose to finance all or a portion of that balance based on your budget and preferences.
