Tooth Protection
A crown acts as a sturdy guard for teeth weakened by decay or by large fillings, which on their own no longer support the tooth structure remaining around them.
Has a cracked or worn-down tooth started to affect how you smile? Dental crowns are caps that fit over a damaged tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and overall appearance. At Canyon Country Dental Care, we use cutting-edge materials and techniques to produce crowns that look, feel, and function like natural teeth.

A dental crown is a custom cap that our dentist cements securely onto a natural tooth or an implant, where it becomes a permanent part of your smile. Porcelain, ceramic, gold, and blended options are all available, and the material we recommend depends on which tooth is being restored. Highly visible front teeth are best treated with porcelain or ceramic, which is both durable and aesthetically attractive. Temporary crowns made of resin or stainless steel protect your tooth between visits but are not meant for long-term restorative purposes.
A crown acts as a sturdy guard for teeth weakened by decay or by large fillings, which on their own no longer support the tooth structure remaining around them.
Broken or worn-down teeth regain their original shape and strength, which brings normal biting and chewing back to that whole side of your mouth once again.
A crown covers a tooth whose color or shape has never thrilled you, giving that part of your smile a complete and entirely natural-looking makeover instead.
After a dental implant or a root canal, a crown provides the natural look and feel that completes the treatment and protects everything sitting underneath.
Getting a crown is easier than you might think and usually spans only two visits.
Request an AppointmentDr. Dabirian evaluates the tooth to confirm it is ready for a crown, then reviews each of the available material options with you.
We then prep the tooth, which may mean filing it down slightly or adding a build-up of filling material underneath it for support.
We capture an impression so the dental lab can craft a crown matching your bite and your neighboring teeth in both shape and shade.
A temporary crown protects the prepared tooth and keeps you comfortable while your permanent restoration is being made at the lab.
At your second visit, we remove the temporary, confirm the new crown is a perfect match, and then secure it permanently in place.
A crown is often the right answer when a filling alone will not hold.
Large Fracture — A tooth has cracked or broken to the point that too little healthy structure remains behind to support a standard dental filling.
Root Canal — You have had endodontic treatment, and the tooth is now more brittle than normal, leaving it prone to accelerated wear or breakage.
Worn Teeth — Years of grinding have flattened a tooth, changing the way your bite meets and leaving the remaining enamel thin and vulnerable to fracture.
Failing Restoration — An older filling now covers most of the tooth, and decay keeps returning around its margins year after year despite good hygiene.
We stand by the materials we use. Your crown is built to look fabulous and stand the test of time.
Our dentist reviews every material option with you. You play an active role in planning your reconstruction.
We provide treatment plans outlining all fees and estimated benefits. Optional financing plans are included.
Numbing medication comes before any adjustment is made. Sedation is also available upon request.
Real Patients, Real Stories
fantastic dentist! office is very clean and neat, cleaning was quick and efficient! dr was very educated and informed us of other dental clinics (private or otherwise that's eligible for medicare) around us for wisdom teeth removal. he's a great guy and wonderful dentist!
Great experience. Super friendly staff, quick and easy visit, and the dentist explained everything clearly. Clean office and no pressure at all. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Dabirian is professional, and gentle. As a woman who does not enjoy dental visits, he always makes the experience warm and friendly while thoroughly explaining everything he's doing and why it's important which was very comforting and distracting (during numbing shots he did it seamlessly!) If you visit you'll know you're coming to a professional who actually cares. The office is also nice and clean.
Recently visited. Had to leave my dentist office of which I was a pt for over 20 years due to his retirement The new owners didn't have my insurance. You can imagine after having the same dr for yrs I was apprehensive. The staff at Canyon Country Dental were extremely nice. I received very good service. Xrays we're done very efficiently. Jollee was professional and quick to make what can be an uncomfortable procedure, doable. I read that sometimes they upsell. However, I feel the extra services they offer are all optional and there is no pressure to buy. They are current and offer up to date services ie your chart is electronical and you can access it from your phone. I think I will be very content with my care at this office.
I've seen Dr. Dabirian three times now (one general cleaning/X-rays, and two visits for fillings), and I can confidently say he's the best dentist I've ever had. From the moment I walked into the clinic, it's so so clear Dr. Dabirian cares about the patient experience. He explains everything he's doing before and during treatment, walks through X-rays in detail, and never leaves you wondering what's happening in your own mouth. But I have to give Dr. D his flowers for the tiny details! Just a few examples: during numbing injections, he'd gently shake my cheek to help distract from a pinch; he gives me a squishy mouth block to help relax my jaw; after a filling, he asks over and over how my bite feels, happily making tiny adjustments until it feels as close to my natural bite as possible. Marta is fantastic too. The two of them have great banter, and every visit feels like visiting folks who have known me for 20 years. The office itself is clean, spacious, and comfortable. They use digital forms and text reminders that make everything easy peasy. Most importantly, Dr. Dabirian is just a genuinely kind person who's clearly passionate about helping people. I recommend Canyon Country Dental Care without hesitation. (And at the time of writing this, they accept Medi-Cal patients!)
Let me start by saying Dr. Dabirian and his team are GREAT! After recently moving to Santa Clarita (2 years ago lol) and not wanting to drive 40 min to my old dentist, I finally bit the bullet and to find someone closer. I am so happy I found Canyon Country Dental and they are absolutely awesome. I dont feel like he is trying to get me to do unnecessary work and he explains everything as he goes. His assistant (Martha) is sweet and makes me feel comfortable and well taken care of. I am so glad I found them as i am not to keen on going to the dentist...hence the 2 year postponement lol
Very kind, caring, helped my cavity. Thank you!
Literally the sweetest dentist! I actually enjoy coming here because the whole office feels so welcoming and comfortable. The staff is friendly, professional, and always makes sure you feel at ease. They take the time to explain everything clearly and genuinely care about their patients. I would really recommend coming to this place to anyone.
I had a great experience with Dr. Ali Dabirian and his team. He took X-rays for both me and my wife and provided a thorough cleaning for me. Everything was handled professionally and efficiently, and he did an excellent job making sure we were comfortable throughout the visit. Dr. Dabirian and his staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. It’s not always easy to find a dentist you can trust, but I would definitely recommend Dr. Dabirian to anyone looking for quality dental care. *******They accept Medi-Cal*********
By far the best dental office and experience I've ever had. For years I have been trying to find a good dental office and good Doctor but have been struggling which put me off getting a cleaning for about a year and a half. When I called canyon country dental care it was actually the Dental Doctor who answered and was very professional and honest right away. This office is extremely clean and located in a very nice plaza. Dr Dabirian spent his time thoroughly with me and made sure all of my questions were answered. You also cannot beat the price for everything I got done which was X-rays and a dental cleaning. I am so glad I found my new dental office!
I had an excellent experience at this dental office from start to finish. The staff was welcoming, professional, and made me feel completely at ease the moment I walked in. The office itself is clean, modern, and very well-organized, which immediately gave me confidence in the level of care I would receive. Dr.Dabirian took the time to explain everything clearly and answered all of my questions with patience and honesty. I never felt rushed or pressured into unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciated. During the procedure, they were gentle, attentive, and consistently checked in to make sure I was comfortable. Definitely recommend anyone in need of dental advice or help to visit Dr.Dabirian
The Dr. here was so kind. He took the time to explain everything to me and was so upfront with all of his answers. Great bedside manner too. I will absolutely be coming back for any work I may need in the future.Thank you Dr. Dabirian!

Depending on your situation, the average fee ranges between $500 and $2000 per tooth. The price of dental crowns in Canyon Country, CA, shifts with the material, the number of crowns, and whether the tooth needs a build-up first.
Insurance benefits can meaningfully reduce the price of your new cap, though the percentage depends on your policy. Before dental crowns in Canyon Country, CA, are started, we give you a plan showing all fees and estimated coverage.
On average, a well-maintained crown lasts at least 10 to 15 years. It is not unheard of for crowns to last 20 years or more with good home care.
The nerve responds to the enamel being reshaped during preparation, so heightened sensitivity is natural at first. Symptoms tend to be temporary, and our dentist can adjust how the crown bites against the opposing teeth if they persist.
Getting a crown is just as comfortable as having a routine filling, since numbing medication desensitizes the tooth before any adjustments. Sedation is available on request, though some minor soreness at the injection site or in your jaw is to be expected.
Temporary crowns may come off if you chew sticky food or floss around them, which is normal. Permanent crowns are securely fixed and safe to floss, and the usual reason one loosens is recurring decay around the tooth.
Brush around your crown twice a day and floss around it daily, since flossing will not remove a permanent crown. Skipping it allows bacteria to accumulate at the margins, which leads to recurring decay, gum disease, and crown failure.
A damaged or severely decayed tooth does not have to stay that way. If pain or difficulty biting has become part of your routine, a crown may be the answer worth exploring.
